After stunting on Tuesday with chanting monks, Sticks Media relaunched Hot AC “102.5 Mountain-FM” KMSO Missoula MT on Wednesday.
Positioning as “Missoula’s Best Mix”, the new format returns the station to its former musical position in the market placing it between Missoula Broadcasting Company’s “U104.5” KKVU and Anderson Radio Broadcasting CHR “Star 107.5” KENR.
The new brand launched at 8am on Wednesday with its first five songs featuring Olivia Dean “Man I Need”, 24KGoldn ft. Iann Dior “Mood”, Alex Warren & Jelly Roll “Bloodline”, Lizzo “About Damn Time”, and AJR “Bang”.
Original Report 12/9: As Sticks Media has begun operating the previously silent 102.5 KMSO Missoula MT and 107.9 KHDV Darby/Hamilton MT, the stations are now stunting.
KMSO is currently “Monk-FM” with Gregorian monk chants, while KHDV is running Christmas music as “Ho Ho 108“.
Sticks Media agreed to purchase KMSO and the former Classic Hits “The Drive” from Sheila Callahan & Friends Inc. for $255,000 last month. Sticks Media owner Todd Nixon noted at the time that KMSO will relaunch its former Hot AC “102.5 Mountain FM” identity, while KHDV will debut a new format and brand.
The KMSO stunt also includes matching jingles in the style of chanting identifying the station and poking fun at the programming. The stunt can be heard here.
